Romeo Anthony, popularly known as Shinsoman aka Dancehall Fada, paid tribute to his legion of fans across the country for their unwavering support that saw him scooping the Best Song of 2013 gong at the Zim Dancehall Awards. He made the statement while headlining a weekend gig at Bindura’s Club 1160, which revellers from the town know better as “Kwa Picky”.

“I want to thank you my fans who made it possible for me to get an accolade at the Zim Dancehall Awards on Wednesday.
“Your support uplifts me and encourages me to do more,” he said, before breaking into song.

Supported by the town’s finest deejays — Redd, Jigga and top dancehall spinners DJ Kartel and DJ Ritchie — Shinsoman proved why he was the toast of 2013.

The show doubled as a welcome gig for Bindura University students and Shinsoman kept the youthful crowd on their feet.
In an effort to limit access into the club, the organisers raised the charges from US$3 to US$4 but the fans did not budge an inch.

Shinsoman’s trademark husky-voiced style was his winning method as it kept fans on the dance floor until he performed his last track.
So impressive was his act that show organiser and club owner Kudakwashe Chomusoro gushed about his star quality.

“Usually, when a big artiste comes to small towns, they give half-baked performances. That was not the case with Shinsoman as everything about him was top notch.

“We brought him here by public demand and I am happy that he did not disappoint,” he said.
