Samba dancers from Brazil are expected in the country tomorrow ahead of the Samba Night set for Airport Lounge on Friday.
The 12 dancers are expected to team up with local dancers that include Beverly Sibanda and Zoey Sifelani among others for the event, which is part of the ongoing Harare International Carnival.
Zimbabwe Tourism Authority head of corporate affairs Sugar Chagonda said all was in place for the Samba Night, which is one of the highlights of the carnival.
Chagonda says they are looking forward to a great event and urged party-goers to come in their numbers.

“The Brazilian samba dancers are expected in the country on May 22 (tomorrow) and they will join local artistes that are billed to perform at the event.
“We are looking forward to a great night and we hope people would enjoy the night,” said Chagonda.

Last year the samba dancers were expected to grace the inaugural Harare International Carnival but did not come.
Chagonda said this year the dancers have confirmed participation at the carnival.

Biggie Chinoperekwei of Airport Lounge said they were looking forward to a great Samba Night.
“It would be an opportunity for people to feel a different environment when we host the Brazilians.

“Samba dancers are popular in most parts of the world and it is good that we will have them here.
“We thank Harare International Carnival organisers for choosing our place for the event,” said Chinoperekwei.

“We have our own good dancers here and they will complement the Brazilians on the night. It is likely to be a historic event, and we are looking forward to a great time at the event.”
