Nigeria’s popular entertainers, actress Rita Dominic and singer Davido, said they would love to tour Zimbabwe and meet their fans. In separate interviews with The Herald Entertainment on the sidelines of MultiChoice Africa’s content extravaganza held in Mauritius recently, both the screen diva and the “Skelewu” hitmaker expressed enthusiasm about coming to Zimbabwe.

Rita whose latest film titled “The Meeting” was produced by well-known Nollywood producer, Mildred Okwo, said she wanted to tour Zimbabwe with a view to work with local filmmakers.

“It’s been in the pipeline for too long and I just hope that at some point I will be in Zimbabwe to meet the fans and possibly shoot a film,” she said.

“Well, it’s one of those things that I would love to do. I have heard about the Zimbabwean film industry and it would be interesting to actually come and shoot one or two movies and not just in Zimbabwe but in other countries likes Botswana, Malawi and Zambia.”

The beautiful actress who is popular among Zimbabwean fans for her several roles, good or bad, will follow in the steps of other Nollywood acts in the likes of Patience Ozwokor or Mama G in Nigeria or Mai Azuka in Zimbabwe as well as Chinedu.

On the music front, Davido aka  Omo Baba Olowo (which means the son of a rich man) is billed to perform in Harare at an annual festival.

However, although the deal is yet to be finalised, Davido said he was itching to perform in Harare for the first time.

“Well, we got a couple of inquiries from some promoters in Zimbabwe. For long, I have been waiting to go and stage a show in Zimbabwe. I know P Square and D’Banj have been there and I also want to be in Harare.

“Hopefully, my manager will work out something with Zimbabwean promoters,” he said.

Davido is reportedly wrecking in a whooping $50 000 per show. He was also part of the Channel O project called “Africa Rising “ with the likes of Tiwa Savage, J Something Lola Rae,  and Sarkodie.

The artistes have released a collaborative music video titled “Africa Rising” doing the spins on Channel O. The music video is aimed at promoting unity among Africans.
