LONDON. — Liverpool want to sign former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o to bolster their attack ahead of the new soccer season.
Eto’o (33) is currently without a club after his acrimonious exit from Stamford Bridge this summer – and the Telegraph says the Reds board have spoken about bringing him in.
It’s thought that Brendan Rodgers is driving the interest in the veteran striker after failing to find a replacement for Luis Suarez.
Eto’o could be offered a one-year deal to provide cover next season and may even take a wage cut to move to Anfield.

He is currently asking for about £100 000-a-week, a salary that has already seen moves to West Ham and Sunderland collapse, but playing in the Champions League for Liverpool would be a different proposition.— The Mirror-Metro.
