CAPS United full-back Ronald Pfumbidzai believes his team can wake up from their slumber and beat Egyptian giants Zamalek in a must-win CAF Champions League tie at the National Sports Stadium tomorrow.

Pfumbidzai, who scored in both ties against Libyan giants Al Ahli Tripoli, including a beauty that found the target direct from a corner kick, believes his team can come out victorious tomorrow.

“Obviously, after going through this bad spell chips are down and we are very low on confidence. It is not business as usual if a team like us loses to small clubs like Yadah, especially some few days before playing in the Champions League against a continental giant like Zamalek,” said Pfumbidzai.

“But that is football. You win some and lose some. What I would like to promise our fans is that everyone is raring to go and we want a win tomorrow.

“That team is equally struggling and I think we will utilise home advantage to outwit them. The fans should come in their numbers to intimidate the opponents and we will also do our best on the pitch to ensure the fans go back home smiling.

“This is a must-win game for us and interestingly it is also a must-win for our opponents. So the contest is most likely to be fierce, but I hope CAPS United will be smiling at the end of the day.

“We will put our bodies on the line for the sake of that green shirt,” he said.

Defender Dennis Dauda will not play in the match after his move to Yadah Stars having been transfer-listed by the Green Machine following a defeat to the same side.

Dauda, who captained Makepekepe in that loss, was sent-packing for some controversial comments he made prior to that match.

The lanky defender was at the CAPS United training ground on Thursday and was told by the club officials that he was no-longer part of them and had been traded to Yadah Stars.
