Pensioner refuses to cook

A Harare man left the gallery in stitches last week when he revealed that his wife was refusing to cook because she was a pensioner. Genius Mupitapita told the court that his wife, Jennifer, was refusing to do her domestic duties since she recently went on pension. This emerged at the Harare Civil Court where Mupitapita was seeking a protection order against Jennifer whom he said was in the habit of verbally and physically abusing him.
“Each time we encounter a misunderstanding, she becomes very violent, destroying property and windowpanes,” he said.

Mupitapita accused Jennifer of being heartless saying she chased away their four children from home for no clear reason.
“We have four children together, but all of them are not at home because she chased them away,” he said.

Jennifer admitted that she told Mupitapita that she could no longer cook and accused him of locking her in their bedroom while he visited his girlfriends.

Magistrate Ms Babra Masinire granted the protection order which barred Jennifer from physically or verbally abusing Mupitapita.
