ZimPraise Choir master Wellington “Welly” Kwenda gave a stunning performance at a gospel concert dubbed “Crossover to Increase” held over the weekend at the Harare Gardens.
The show was meant to promote upcoming artistes who are often times not considered by promoters and are sometimes secluded because of complexion.

The energetic dancer and singer who is currently riding high with his debut album “Passion of Praises” left fans begging for more despite the low turnout.

Kwenda kept the fans on their feet with his popular songs “Fire Fire”, “Tinodiwa NaJesu”, ”Yahweh” and “Thus says the Lord”.
Before he left the stage he revealed to the fans that he is not a praise person only but also a worshipper. He closed with a worship song called “Nditungamirei” which he featured “Sungano” singer Sharon Manyonganise

Other artistes that performed include ex-prisoners group Divine Echoes, Alcoz of the Albinos, Selboune and Anointing Praise Choir.
The show was also a chance for upcoming singer Alpha Ngonidzashe Gatsi to prove that more and more young musicians deserved to be given such an opportunity to shine in future. It was the group Thousand Voices led by Mabel Madondo, sister of the late Jackie Madondo, that closed the show and they did well and have the potential to do better in future. However, the main act Fungisai                                         Zvakavapano-Mashavave did not turn up.

Show promoter Shepherd Sirewu said he was grateful that the show was a success despite the low turnout.
“I managed to bring upcoming artistes together who are often neglected by other promoters and they all did their best on stage.

“I appreciate those that have managed to come and this is just the beginning because l will be holding more shows,” he said.
He added: “My apologies to all the fans, Fungisai Zvakavapano- Mashavave did not come because she had been invited to perform at the President’s daughter’s wedding.
