MULTI-AWARD winner gospel hip-hop artiste, Mudiwa Mutandwa, famed not only for his canny and suave lyrics but also his swag, is expected to spring a surprise at the Kuxy Creation label launch to be held at Joina City this Saturday.
The label which is brainchild of Rukudzo Memory Sarupinda focuses much on wedding gowns, African attires and beadwork.
The show will bring the best of both worlds  — from music to fashion.

Mudiwa said he was happy to sample his latest single which is already topping on Star FM charts.
“I am so happy that I am going to perform at the fashion show. Fashion is my way of life and my new single entitled ‘Number One’. I have been working with a Nigerian guy APK who helped me to spice up the beats with Craigbone too on the chorus,” he said.

He said he started working on his upcoming album due for release early next year.
“I have a number of lined-up tours coming this season. Fashion and music is the same as it is all about creativity,” he said.

On the show, Mudiwa will be dressed by Kuxy Creations. Sarupinda said she designs clothes for artistes, ministers, celebrities and the launch of the designer label was a stepping stone.

“Artistes are always in the public eye and the way they dress tells a story about them, be it on or off stage, so it is important for them and anyone at large, to be properly dressed. The launch will be an opportunity to introduce myself and the designs to the general public,” she said.

Sarupinda said the event would be a classy Afro centric affair.
“We have noted over the years that corporates and individuals need to have an independent yet all encompass corporate outlook philosophy. The event will be star studded and running under the theme: ‘classy afro centric look’,” she said.

She said ticket holders will have an opportunity to get access to the VIP discount for any of her products.
“On the day we are not only going to showcase our wares but each ticket has got its discount on any of the products to be purchased which is running for a month.

“Success in the fashion industry is more than just crafting beautiful designs, it’s about selling. And the easiest way to sell clothing designs is with a good brand. Chanel, Gucci, Dior and Prada are iconic brands that immediately convey a message about the style and quality of the products. Kuxy Creations is much to do with African wear and bracing Zimbabwean style,” she said.
