It will be a mixed-bag weekend at Bar Rouge as artistes of different genres come to the joint tonight and tomorrow. As usual, tonight Jabavu Drive jams at the Longecheng Plaza venue and present their old skool vibes that have made them a darling of many mature followers. With the likes of renowned horn blowers like Philip Svosve and Aaron Yafele leading the set, Jabavu Drive is always a marvel to watch.

Last Friday they attracted a full house and many went on the dance floor as the group did what it knows best. They did cover versions of local and international hits in addition to presenting their soothing compositions. They are expected to go on the same voyage tonight as their slot grows popular. Then tomorrow comes a mixture of contemporary music, rap, reggae and a bit of rhumba as Baba Harare and Carlos Green share the stage.

Both musicians are expected to unveil new albums soon and they have dubbed the show a “Pre-Launch Affair” where they will give fans a taste of their upcoming material. Baba Harare will be returning to a familiar territory that he frequented when he was still part of Jah Prayzah’s Third Generation. Baba Harare was an integral part of the Third Generation acoustic set that has various shows at Bar Rouge. Tomorrow Baba Harare will come to prove that he still has the touch that has made him one of the best guitarists in the country. Carlos Green is still trying to make his impact in the industry felt and he will use tomorrow’s show for his ongoing campaign.
