Award-winning gospel musician, Mathias Mhere will double launch a single and his much awaited DVD for his latest offering “Old Testament” in Harare’s central business district on Thursday.

The new single titled “Ndakunzwa `Mweya” has a video too, features gospel musician Nyasha Mutonhori and it was produced by Gibson Makumbe of Vot Studios.

“The song talks about the importance of having the Holy Spirit in your life who is your helper especially when going through trying times and his voice gives you strength and courage to face tomorrow,” explains Mhere.

Mhere said taking the album to the streets was the best way to interact with his legion of fans. “This time around I am launching both the single and the DVD in the streets where my legions of fans are. It’s the best way for them to have better appreciation of my messages that are carried in the songs.

“I shall be visiting many locations too so that the DVD reaches to everybody around the country,” he said. The “Favour” hit maker is very confident that people will like the videos that were shot in high definition.

“I am very confident that the DVD will win the hearts of many because it has international standards quality and was shot in HD.I believe it will attract airplay on international platforms like Zambezi Magic just like the other videos,” he said.

Since launching his latest album “Old Testament” Mhere has been on a roller coaster and songs proving to be popular include “Dhindindi Full Time”, “Error”, “Nyasha Ndini”, “Munyaradzi”, and “Ndikoko”.

Other songs to feature on the DVD include “Judas Iscariot”, “Zvinatsei”, “Bye By”, “Tenda”, “Ndikoko” and “Kuzodza” . He released a video for the song “Dhindindi Full Time” last month as well as “Vana VaJesu” and both got overwhelming response.

The album which was produced by Lyton Ngolomi is spiritually uplifting and has found favour across the board. Mhere first recorded an album titled “Tinoda Nyasha” in 2008 but failed to make an impact on the local market.

He found his glory in 2012 with album “Anoita Minana” followed by “Nguva Yenyasha” that was released in 2013.
