HARARE City have cut short their celebrations to focus on FC Platinum whom they meet at Mandava this afternoon hoping for maximum points as they chase for a top six finish in the title race.

Assistant coach Mkuphali Masuku said he expects a tough match in Zvishavane.

“It is going to be a very difficult match, especially looking at the form that FC Platinum have, they have been doing well and as Harare City, we have won the Cup but in league games we are not performing to our standards,” said Masuku.

“But we have prepared very well and we are looking forward to the game.

“I think it is something which has got to do with the mindset from the guys and it is something that we have working on and hopefully we will come right in the remaining fixtures.

“We have been conceding late and missing a lot of goal-scoring chances. But it is work in progress and we hope on Saturday it will be the turning point for us.

“We are still on course for top six finish as we still have 12 points to play for.”

The team will miss goalkeeper Maxwell Nyamupangedengu as he is writing examinations, together with speedster Martin Vengesayi, at the Zimbabwe Open University.

The trio of Crispen Dickson, David Kutyauripo and Arnold Chivheya are nursing some minor knocks and have to pass a late fitness test.

FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza said he was concerned about meeting a team high on confidence.

“We know they will be very high on confidence and it is not going to be an easy game. I also like to congratulate them for winning the Chibuku Super Cup,” said Mapeza.

“I heard Tau (Mangwiro) saying they want to finish in a better position and it will be a difficult match for us as they highly motivated.

“We are taking each game as it comes and we don’t have any pressure that we are chasing the league title and have to win every game as only God knows where we will end up.”

FC Platinum will be without strikers Brian Muzvondiwa, who is suspended, and Tarisai Rukanda who is injured.
