Talented vocalist Emmanuel “Mannex” Motsi recently rejoined the granddaddies of reggae, Transit Crew, after a three-year separation and tonight he goes to Junction 24 for a show with the group.

The singer, who parted ways with the band to pursue a solo career, has been performing with Transit Crew for a couple of weeks.

Mannex’s return now means that the outfit’s frontline is made up four members, namely Cello Culture, Jehffarai and new recruit, Mr Victor.

Mannex said Transit Crew has always been his “home” and he was happy to be back.

“It is good that I am back.

“I have been with my group MoFamilee for some years but things have not been well.

“I was experiencing problems with my band where the majority lacked focus and maturity.

‘I decided to rejoin Transit which is my home and it is really good to be back with the elders.

He, however, described his solo journey as a learning experience.

“It was very interesting and it is part of growing up and I learnt quite a lot.”

Mannex said the group received him well and they are ready to work on new projects.

Culture said he was happy to have a brother like Mannex rejoining the group.

“I am happy to see Mannex back, he boasts of years of experience and to have him back in the band is really a big boost for the band.”

Junction 24 director Tavepi Madzingira said the joint was glad to host the reggae outfit that has shown unity over the years.

“When a group welcomes a former member in such a way, it means there is unity and peace in the group. We are happy to host the group that has a solid fan base and I hope the return of Mannex will make the fans happier,” he said.

During his solo career Mannex released three albums titled “Rwendo”, “Mo Love” and “Optimist by Choice” featuring Czech Republic band Setam.

His latest album was released in the Czech Republic last year.
