Hello August!! We all know what that means yea? There is just too much stuff going down this coming holiday and we can’t wait! It’s merely a week to go and we are counting down each day! Hope you all ready for what the August Holidays represent. Because we are forward thinkers who plan in advance (you should do it too) we already have a schedule of what we will be up to the whole time. We will be sure to give you updates all the way. This week we are going to share with you steps to have a blast this August.

Musical shows
Music speaks the universal language and makes the world go round which means you have to know the joint that will be going.

  • Simon Silcock Live in Reps Theatre will be on August 08 2014 @ 18:30.
  • Team Good Looking (TGL) will be hosting parties each and every Saturaday @ Club Fuse (Jazz 105).
  • The Harare Agricultural Show runs from August 22-30.

“Home theatres” and theatres
It is dope to go out with friends as they have special promotions for holidays. I was surprised earlier this week when I simply bought myself a three-slicer and was handed a movie ticket for two and I was like wow that’s cool!

Dstv and movie houses
Relax and look back on the new movies that were released while you were at school. “The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, “Guardians of the Galaxy”, “The Expendables”, “A Dame to Kill For”, “The Giver”, “Island Of Lemurs”. These movies should help you relax and put your holiday in the right tone.

Hang outs
If you love food, then you are in luck. The US fast-food giant KFC recently opened in Belgravia and you would want to get the feel. Take time and get a feel of the Longcheng Plaza which has nice space for children to hang out and play games.

Things to do
Do something that you always thought of doing but could not because of schooling or other reasons. If not, try smiling for no reason. Many always ask me what I will be smiling about and I cannot give them an answer because I will be smiling for no reason. Life is something to cherish and be thankful for, so smile.
Get together with your best buddies. Either take yourselves out or hit a party and have a blast. The type of friends I am talking about are the friends that can change things where ever they go. For me it will be Anesu “PhatBoi” Masamvu and Everisto “Degree Dynamite” Zhuwao. These guys can come at a lame party and turn it up that you won’t believe you will be still in the same joint.

Do something for someone that will make their day. I got my little sister Mitchel Fadzai Makoni a mobile phone and I know it’s going to make her happy. Being kind is a vital way of bringing meaning to our own lives as well as the lives of others. Being kind allows us to communicate better with others, to be more self-compassionate, and also to be a positive force in people’s lives. Kindness has its true source deep within you, and while some people are innately kind, it’s something that everyone can cultivate by choice.

Otherwise if you like taking it easy that is totally allowed. In fact, here are some tips on how you can spend your days.
Admit you’re happy

This August admit you are happy and get out there and exercise, this is the best way to promote happiness. A brisk 30-minute walk or jog around the track three times a week may be just as effective in relieving the symptoms of major depression as the standard treatment of anti-depressant medications. Set aside a block of time every day for the same exercise routine.

Have family fun, there are so many options for families to really enjoy each other besides watching television or playing video games together. Ask yourself when is the last time you and your family enjoyed a day at your local park.

Family Game Night
Who doesn’t love to play games? One person gets to pick out their favourite board or card game and have the whole family join in on the fun.
Make some popcorn or buy some special game time snacks to enjoy while playing. Create your own family board game and play. You could even find a puzzle for the whole family to work on. Just remember the purpose of Family Fun is to enjoy spending time together as a family because a family that spends time together has a blast together.

When all the fun is done do not forget to get some sleep as we all know sleep is a very important part of our lives and reduces the chances of contracting many diseases, see you in August.
