It will be Mafikizolo’s second journey to Harare in four months while Zahara comes for her first show in the country this year after numerous visits over the past two years. When the South African musicians land at the Harare International Airport on the same flight at 12.20pm today, the recipe for tonight’s party will be complete.

The stage has been set for the much-hyped Mafikizolo-Zahara show at Harare International Conference Centre tonight and local acts Jah Prayzah, Winky D and Pah Chihera are already jogging on the touchline, ready to give the foreigners a good game at the giant entertainment facility.

Mafikizolo were on the same stage on December 19 last year and delivered a polished act in a gig that also featured Oliver Mtukudzi and Tocky Vibes.

The show was oversubscribed and fans jostled to see the musicians in action leading to some unfortunate incidents but Mafikizolo had a brilliant night in office.

Zahara was on the same stage on March 8, 2013, also with Mtukudzi. The “Loliwe” hit maker came and thrilled, paving way for many other gigs that she has held in the country at different venues thereafter.

It was a historic show and the memories of a great outing should still be vivid in Zahara’s mind. It will be a return to a great stage for her.

It seems either Zahara enjoys being at HICC in March or the promoters coincidentally bring her in the same month.

She was also at HICC on March 2, 2012 and has shared the stage with different local musicians.

For Jah Prayzah, tonight’s show is likely to be a preparatory affair for his album launch to be held at the venue on May 22. Jah Prayzah will unveil the upcoming album “Jerusarema” at HICC, which has become the birth place for his albums following the launch of “Kumbura Mhute” at the same venue on April 17, 2014.

Winky D has shared the stage with many international acts and emerged the best at most shows.

When he comes to tonight’s show, the “Ninja President”, as he is popularly known, will be representing the popular Zimdancehall genre and he is likely to have his golden moments during his slot.

It would be double joy for Pah Chihera who also celebrates her birthday today. The “Runonzi Rudo” singer has not been in her best form for the past months and some critics have labelled her a ‘one-hit-wonder’.

It will be her chance to prove that she has what it takes to ride on her wave for longer. Since it is her birthday, the musician is likely to be in celebratory mood to deliver a top notch act.

Although local acts are set to stand their ground, most fans are likely to be focusing on Zahara and Mafikizolo’s performances.

Show organisers, Simmad Entertainment, have promised a smooth show and assured fans that the groundwork has been done for a memorable event.

“Tickets to the show went on sale last Friday and they have been selling well. We are sure that the advance tickets will make the event smooth. We have taken necessary measures for a good event,” said Simba Madziwa of Simmad Entertainment.

“We will have six entry points and there will not be many demarcations. We will charge $15 for the upstairs part and $25 for the downstairs arena. We will have an electronic system to check tickets and doors will open two hours before the show. We are looking forward to a smooth event.

“We have also strengthened our security at the doors, in the car park and in the venue. We have given due attention to bars so that beverages do not run dry like what happened last time.”
