Former Miss Zimbabwe 2014 Catherine Makaya has landed a lead role in Nesto’s video “Ngala Ngala”. Makaya plays a video vixen who brings style and spark to the set. “The video is certainly going to be different as myself and the team are exerting so much effort in its production. We are not taking a mere day but doing several scenes in different locations. I am working with a youthful production team called Khalfani Motion,” Nesto — whose real name is Ernest Manandi — said.

The Herald Entertainment got hold of snaps from the video and the 20-year-old beauty is seen dressed eloquently in a blue dress that highlights her best features.

While Nesto could not be drawn to reveal the release date, he said it was a New Year’s present to his fans.

“Ngala Ngala” is a song that talks about a couple’s romance gone bad and it has been popular among people of all ages.

It is also the musician’s comeback song as he had not been recording since 2008.

“Daddy Chocolate”, as Nesto is known, said he has since picked himself up and was “reclaiming what belongs to him”.

Makaya, on the other hand, is moving on from the controversial dethronement episode that took place a week before she left for the Miss World pageant.

She, however, continues to quote controversy as she maintains that she was still the Miss Zimbabwe as seen on her Facebook page Miss Zimbabwe Catherine Makaya.

There has been a cold war on social media with some accusing her of not accepting that she is no longer Miss Zimbabwe while her loyalists were encouraging her to continue with her Miss Zimbabwe activities.

Tempers flared during the days leading to the Miss World pageant when Makaya posted a picture of herself in the exact dress that reigning Miss Zimbabwe Tendai Hunda had won in London the previous night.

So bad was the tension that former Miss Global Zimbabwe First princess Jaqueline Ngarande accused Makaya of being bitter on her Facebook wall.

The incident followed with Ngarande making further claims that she was being insulted and threatened with unspecified action by Makaya loyalists.

Despite the war of words, Makaya continues to update her Miss Zimbabwe Facebook page with her activities.
