Early Christmas present for Dhewa fans

The new album is titled Toitabasa.

Speaking from his home in Kwekwe, Dhewa said he was happy to have finished recording his new album in time for the festive season.
He appealed to his fans to be patient and wait for the launch of the album in two weeks.

“I would like to ask my fans to be patient as I have sent the album to Europe for locking so that it cannot be stolen by the CD pirates.
“All the work is done and in two weeks I will be launching my new album countrywide. I have finished recording my project and I am left with a few logistics that I am supposed to do before I launch the album. I want my fans to enjoy their festive season, so the album will be ready in two weeks time,” he said.

Dhewa said the new album has more of sungura music than the rhumba that he introduced to his fans a few years ago.
“In this album I am going back to sungura from the rhumba that I have been playing of late.

“My fans are saying I have forgotten them as some do not like rhumba that much. So I am trying to balance because in the album you will find that five songs are sungura and only one song is rhumba,” he said.
The album Toitabasa has six songs that include Ndiro Yababa, Mabasa, Nhasi Ndadiwa.

Dhewa also mentioned that CD pirates were killing the music industry and this was demotivating a lot of musicians from producing more work on time.
“I am still recording because I love my fans that I got in the years but the truth is piracy is killing us. We as musicians we are losing a lot of money from piracy,” he said.
