THE timely appointments of two new coaches by Northern Region Division One sides Shamva United and Kariba Waves are bringing positive results as far as their performances are concerned. Shamva are now under the guidance of Elisha Mukusa who has since transformed the team while Kariba Waves have brought on board the seasoned Newton “Taundi” Chitewe. The Shamva gold miners took Mukusa on board replacing Friday Jasi during the Week 18 fixtures where they had accumulated eight points and the coach has since managed to transform the team.

Shamva have since Mukusa’s arrival secured six points out of a possible nine.

The miners took their form to log leaders Black Rhinos, holding Stanford “Stix’’ Mtizwa’s soldiers 0-0.

Kariba Waves on the other hand opened their good run with a win against Mushowani Stars where they won 1-3 away as they went on to beat Flame Lily 2-1 at Nyamhunga.

The two teams’ revival is a result of two experienced Northern Region coaches who have seen it in probably the most competitive league.

Mukusa a former Starbill coach remains hopeful that they will avoid the chop as long as they remain focused.

He said he is hoping to achieve another escape from relegation he enjoyed with Starbill.

Meanwhile, the case involving Black Rhinos and Herentals will be reviewed next week by the Northern Region disciplinary committee.

Herentals on Monday filed a complaint that their supporters were attacked at One Commando after the two sides’ goalless affair.
