NGEZI Platinum Stars captain Liberty Chakoroma has rallied his troops to take the game to Angolan side Recreativo do Lilobo when the two sides clash in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup first round tie at National Sports Stadium on Saturday. Chakoroma, who scored the away goal in Angola last weekend is confident they will do well in the return fixture.

He said they were looking for nothing short of victory.

Ngezi Platinum are expected to overturn a 2-1 deficit that they suffered in Liboli.

“I think we are in the right shape as everyone is looking forward to the game. It is a must-win encounter and we are not taking any chances.

“This game will be totally different from the first match as we now have a better understanding of our opponents.

“The first match was tricky as we were playing a team we hardly knew, but this time we have a better understanding of our opponents.

“The guys have been working hard at training and I hope we are going to come out with a positive result on Saturday,” said Chakoroma.

Ngezi are expected in Harare today after spending the better part of the week holed up at their base in Mhondoro.

Chakoroma feels they are also at home at the giant stadium.

“Playing in Harare at the National Sports Stadium is as good as playing at home because everyone is used to the stadium.

“All the players have experienced the National Sports Stadium turf so I don’t think it will be a challenge or a disadvantage for us.

“It will be just be as good as playing at home as the turf is the same as the one at Baobab.

“All the players are in good shape and raring to go,” added Chakoroma.

Ngezi have also appealed for the Harare fans to come and support them as they are flying the national flag.

“We are happy to be representing the nation at such a big stage and therefore we urge all the soccer-loving Zimbabweans to come in their numbers and rally behind us.

“We will not disappoint them and playing at this stage is encouraging and I believe whoever is going to be playing will give it their best,” Chakoroma said.
