Mutare-based musician Brian “Murondatsimba” Samaita has assembled a new band and released a new album titled “Tsono”.

In an interview, the musician said his new band worked hard to have the album released.

“I have a new band now and we have worked to have a five track album that went on the market last week,” he said.

Samaita, a long-time close buddy of the late Tongai Moyo, last released the album “Murodzi Wepfungwa” early last year.

The musician-cum-businessman said he would continue releasing albums despite piracy.

“Piracy is a problem to every musician, but we continue to give people music so that they get entertained and educated,” he said.

Songs on the album are “Dzinza Rake”, “Sando Dzangu”, “Tinosvika Chete”, “Kabasa”and “Simon Zuze”.

The musician said most of the songs tackle social issues affecting people in marriage, workplaces and in other relationships.

The song “Simon Zuze” is a dedication to the Murondatsimba’s bona fide fan who passed away.

“He used to attend most of our shows even those out of town. He was our number one supporter so we decided to dedicate a song to him. We will forever miss him,” said Samaita.

Samaita who is widely known as a controversial singer takes a swipe at churches in the song, “Sando Dzangu”, where he attacks wives and husbands who value church leaders more than God.

The potential hit urges people to value their spouses before hero-worshipping their church leaders.

“Tinosvika Chete” is an inspirational song that urges people to work hard in life and remain resolute in chasing goals.
