Afro-pop musician Peace Ndlovu better known as BaShupi has dropped two zim dancehall singles “Hope”’ and “Nzvee”.
BaShupi said the two singles produced by Gweru based DJ Dexter MK2 Nil are meant to offer diversity to his fans.
“I decided to produce the two songs to widen my fan-base and I call it Zim dancehall Afro-fusion music because it is not deniable that it is the ruling genre and I hope people will enjoy the tracks,” he said.

The song ‘’Nzvee’’ encourages one to seek deliverance from spiritualists who can cleanse such spirits.
“In this track I was saying I have managed to run away from evil spirits like poverty, barrenness and sickness.

“Some people they have bad luck as they are always duped, demoted at work and such things need to be addressed by prophets and other spiritualists, while others need to go back to their rural homes for cleansing,” he said

In another verse he mentions Zimdancehall artistes who have excelled through this genre since many people looked down upon them.
Some of the artistes making a good living include Soul Jah Love, Winky D, Shinsoman, Tocky Vibes and BaShupi himself.

The other single “Hope” (Sleep) describes different cases of sleep depending with different lifestyles people have.
It says one can enjoy sleep when he or she has money and influential or when lying with a partner.

He ropes in the late Cephas Mashakada’s song “Kurara Hope” chorus in the song.
“Some don’t get a sleep because they are always counting notes, others due to hunger and poverty whilst others can not sleep because of jealousy,” he said.

BaShupi said he will sample the new tracks at the Shoko Festival running from September 25 to 28 at Alex Sports Club in Milton Park.
His latest album “Dura” released in June was warmly received and he is known for his energy and well choreographed dances during performance.

He is also the brand ambassador for the Zvandiri National Advocacy, a team of HIV positive adolescents.
