Rising contemporary musician Andy Muridzo thrilled fans at Inner Cafe on Friday when he staged a welcome back gig following his successful maiden UK tour. He played songs from both albums much to the delight of the fans.The young musician said he was happy that legions of fans managed to attend his welcome show. The young musician is currently riding high with his second album “Ngarizhambe” that has several hit songs.
“I am working hard to have a better album than Ngarizhambe. Maselo is the producer of the album that will be released in March,” he said.
Muridzo said he was however, not at liberty to divulge information about collaborations though The Herald Review understands he was considering Nigerian star Davido.
“We have done several collaborations with other artistes and they have been successful and in that regard we will be working on something with other musicians,” he said.
The musician has since been described by music fans as a copy cat, who took advantage of his relationship with Mukudzei Mukombe aka Jay Prayzah to venture into the music industry.
He has however since denied that he was a copycat, saying he was merely emulating the lanky musician In 2014, he met Jah Prayzah at a United Methodist Church service where the lanky musician offered him help to pursue music as a career.
“We were at a church service in Uzumba when I met Jah Prayzah who then offered to guide me in my career but unfortunately that time I was still at school and we could not say much,” he said.
He was to communicate with Jah Prayzah after he had relocated to Harare soon after completed his secondary education. For Muridzo that was the beginning of his career and he would get shows on his own as well as being a curtain raiser for his “brother”.
