Resistant Ncube and Robert Zvidza
The Zimbabwe Republic Police has over the years maintained a fair share of recognition in international peacekeeping operations worldwide.
World bodies like the United Nations have continuously sought the skills and expertise from officers in the ZRP in policing troubled spots in the world.

This has seen ZRP officers on duty in various nations under the United Nations Peacekeeping Operations. A total of 1 042 police officers from the ZRP have been seconded to the UN Peacekeeping Missions in different nations so far and more missions continue to seek their services.
Distinctive service

The ZRP national spokesperson, Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba is one example of such officers who have served with distinction in UN Missions. At the end of her tenure of service, Snr Asst Commr Charamba was described as “exemplary” during her tenure with UN Mission in Liberia as Operations Coordinator since 2009 to March 2012.

Snr Asst Commr Charamba was among other tasks responsible for all operations of all United Nations Police in the mission and was instrumental in the deployment of UN Police during the Liberian elections which were held peacefully.

She too, on five occasions, was UNPOL Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner in Liberia in an acting capacity. This saw her being overseer of all UN Police components in the mission area and sitting in all strategic meetings of the National Security Council chaired by Her Excellency, the President of the Republic of Liberia, Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
