The Zimbabwe National Army should remain vigilant, disciplined and maintain the good name of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces through various skills, a senior army officer has said.

Addressing a graduation ceremony of 40 junior officers that completed the watermanship commando skills training package at Darwendale National Parks camping site last week, Brigadier-General Ephias Mahachi, who is responsible for training, implored graduates to work hard to maintain the reputation of the armed forces and the country at large.

“This marks a huge milestone in the growth of skills in the special force,” he said.

“I want to appreciate the role and importance of the special force in the history of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces and Zimbabwe at large.”

Brig-Gen Mahachi urged the graduates to be disciplined and to lead exemplary lives.

“Despite the economic challenges the country is facing, the ZNA is ready to face any challenge using the available resources,” he said.

“What is only required is to maintain them and urging our men and women to be disciplined because discipline is an indispensable thing for any successful campaign.

“You must live an exemplary life that makes the Zimbabwe National Army a force to reckon with that is respected nationally, regionally and globally.”

Brig-Gen Mahachi praised the graduates for successfully completing their training  inadequate resources notwithstanding.
