Zanu-PF National House Assembly candidate for Chivi South Cde Killer Zivhu has come to the rescue of a Chipinge family whose two children have walking problems. The two boys – aged 11 and 13 – are unable to walk and their plight was highlighted on national television last Friday.

Cde Zivhu swiftly reacted on Saturday and visited the Chipinge family where he promised to pay school fees for the boys and buy their uniforms.

He also donated an assortment of groceries that will last the family some time and offered a job to the unemployed father at his property development company, so that he can be able to fend for the children.
Cde Zivhu would also source wheel- chairs to assist easy movement for the boys.

Speaking after handing over the groceries at Sigauke homestead in Tambawakachenjera Village on Saturday, Cde Zivhu said he felt obliged to help the family although they were not from his constituency.

He said it was the obligation of every Zimbabwean to assist the less privileged members of the society, and people should look beyond regions in philanthropic work.

“I learnt some lessons from President Mnangagwa’s work ethic, and one of the important ones is that we are servants of the people, not only those in our home areas,” he said.

“I am an aspiring MP for Chivi South, but I have come all the way to Chipinge to assist these children because they are Zimbabweans. As Zanu-PF aspiring MPs, we must look beyond regions when addressing the plight of the less privileged members of the society, especially children with disability.

“It does not matter where you come from, as leaders we must show the people that indeed the country is one united entity. We, as aspiring MPs, should demonstrate that we are indeed servants of the people, not only those from our constituencies, but the whole country. That is what our President is teaching us through his good deeds and words – to serve Zimbabweans.”

Cde Zivhu challenged other organisations and individuals to assist children in such conditions from where ever they are, as part of fostering unity that President Mnangagwa is advocating for.

“The voice of the people is the voice of God and thus we should respond to the voice of these two boys and many others out there who are crying for help,” he said.

Cde Zivhu said he was touched by the plight of the two boys when he watched evening news on television last Friday.
The two boys have a rare condition, which has made their legs deformed and unable to stretch. They use their hands and backs to move.

“These boys deserve a better future and education and I have heard that they are intelligent at school. I am also sourcing wheelchairs so that it is convenient for them to access school.”
One of the boys thanked Cde Zivhu for his gesture.

“We are happy to receive this donation,” he said. “It will go a long way in helping us, but we wish if we can get medical attention. We believe our condition can be addressed if we visit the hospital and get a doctor’s at- tention.”
