zanu-PF National Youth Secretary Cde Pupurai Togarepi has commended President Mnangagwa for opening Empower Bank, saying the initiative would empower the country’s future leaders. Cde Togarepi was addressing Zanu-PF youths from the Eastern Region at a Youth Convention held in Chivhu, Mashonaland East Province, on Saturday.

The Eastern Region is made up of youths from Mashonaland East, Manicaland and Masvingo provinces.
The convention was part of efforts to bolster support for President Mnangagwa and Zanu-PF ahead of the July 30 elections.
Cde Togarepi said Cde Mnangagwa was a listening President.

“We sat down at national level to discuss and map a way forward on how best can youths be empowered and after exhausting all the possibilities, we approached President ED Mnangagwa with our concerns and as you know he is a listening man, he promised to help us.

“Last week we witnessed the launch of the Youth Bank in Harare. The President has fulfilled his promise to all youths and we thank him for empowering us the future leaders of Zimbabwe, and for this and many developmental programmes our President has done, we say ED has our vote,” said Cde Togarepi.

He urged youths to productively use loans from the bank and help develop the nation.
“Comrades, this bank is ours, those who are interested in mining, farming, marketing and even in technology, this is the opportunity to live the dream.

“We must use the bank to empower ourselves and by so doing developing out nation,” he said.
Cde Togarepi said President Mnangagwa requires support of the youths.
He commended Zanu-PF youths for being peaceful as the nation heads for elections.

“You are showing maturity and this is commendable. This is what we want. This is what our President wants,” he said.
“We want our party to win so let us mobilise more support. Other political parties are busy locking horns with ZEC everyday, maybe they want ZEC to vote for them. They forget that ZEC is an independent entity.

“Come July 30, we will clean them up and obviously they will cry. How can they even get a vote when they are wasting time on ZEC,” he said. He said some of them are threatening to boycott the elections as they are afraid to lose.

“Some mathematicians in the opposition parties have done the calculations and discovered that they will not win and they are now thinking of boycotting.”
