A Zimbabwean truck driver was murdered in Zambia in a suspected car jacking two weekends ago.
According to media reports, the body of Elton Dziva was found near Mulungushi University in Kabwe, with a swollen head and blood still oozing from the nose. The truck he was driving was abandoned in Ndola with four wheels missing. Zambia’s Central province police chief Standwell Lungu was quoted as saying the truck belonged to GDC Motors of Zimbabwe.

He said they were still investigating the matter.
According to Zambian police, the truck (horse and trailer registration numbers, respectively ACE 2202T and ACE 1628) could have been hijacked from Dziva on March 30.

Mr Lungu said the truck was carrying coal from Zimbabwe and that the body of the deceased was found near Mulungushi University.
In September last year, a Zimbabwean truck driver identified as Patrick Murifi (31) sustained serious injuries to both legs when he was allegedly shot by armed hijackers at Kasumbalesa Border Post between the DRC and Zambia.

The border temporarily closed when irate truck drivers rioted, beating up Congolese nationals and burning their goods as it was suspected that the attackers were from the DRC.

In February, Zimbabwean truck driver Joseph  Mwachande Howard (52) was  shot  dead  at  the same border post.
His killers are yet to be found.
