The Zimbabwe Liberation War Collaborators Association met last week and resolved that President Mugabe should be the Zanu-PF candidate for the 2018 harmonised elections.

In a solidarity message that formed part of the organisation’s resolutions for the Zanu-PF National People’s Conference that started yesterday, Ziliwaco said President Mugabe had the prerogative to choose party leaders in line with the zanu-pf 6th National People’s Congress held last year.

“We recognise the consistence of Cde R.G Mugabe in defending our revolution,” reads part of Ziliwaco’s statement.

“Ziliwaco members have resolved to remain firmly behind our revolutionary leader Cde R.G Mugabe as he leads our revolutionary party Zanu-PF against counter revolutionaries.

“We demand that the conference declare Cde R.G Mugabe as its supreme leader of our revolution — as one of our inspirational leaders in Zanu-PF.”

Ziliwaco continued: “Ziliwaco proudly endorse the efforts of Dr G. Mugabe, the First Lady and secretary for Women’s Affairs of the ruling party as an inspirational leader in Zanu-PF.

“Ziliwaco would like to firmly declare solidarity with Zanu-PF and its people centred policies. Ministers and Government officials should directly be supervised by the party.”

Ziliwaco applauded the revolutionary party for taking a fearless and uncompromised stance against former Vice President Joice Mujuru’s cabal adding that all transgressions in the revolutionary party should be fairly investigated.

The group further highlighted that it recognised the huge strides by President Mugabe and the party in crafting policies that attracted good international relations.

On indigenisation, Ziliwaco said: “Zim-Asset is the best policy that has come out of Africa and its full implementation will see Zimbabwe fulfilling its socio-economic aspirations of the people. We salute you Cde President for taking a bold stance to empower your people.
