ZANU PF youths should be respectful, disciplined, focused, in defending the party in the coming 2023 general elections, the party’s national deputy secretary for youth affairs Cde John Paradza said at the weekend.

Speaking during the Zanu PF Mashonaland East provincial youth inter-district meeting held in Rudhaka Stadium in Marondera, Cde Paradza urged them to be at the forefront in defending the party and President Mnangagwa.

“As youths, we need to have discipline. We must respect our leaders at all levels up to the Politburo. Discipline is good for strengthening the party. President Mnangagwa respects everyone, so we must emulate what he is doing.

“We need youth with focus, as what I am seeing here in Mashonaland East, you are exhibiting high levels of discipline and unity. Your mission is to defend the party always; you have a bigger task of also defending President Mnangagwa. Let your eyes and ears remain open and be on guard for this party.

“We need to be peaceful. Our President always preaches about peace, so let us be peaceful. Let us shun those who are sponsored by the West to cause violence in our beautiful country. We will, as Zanu PF youths, defend this country.”

Cde Paradza went on to urge the youths to mobilise more support for the party and ensure the revolutionary party garners more than 5 million votes next year.

“President Mnangagwa is on record saying the party starts at the cell level, hence our presence here. We are going to the people. You also need to know us since we are new. I want to thank you for coming out in numbers to this event.

“We are now heading towards the 2023 elections. As you know all youths agreed during our national conference that we recently held, that Cde ED Mnangagwa is our 2023 Presidential candidate, no one else. We agreed to give President Mnangagwa 5 million votes come 2023.

“We will only achieve this target or surpass it if we as youths mobilise more people to join the party. This is our election as youths. We are contributing about 65 percent of the electorate, so we have a great deal of work ahead. Let us go out there and campaign for the ruling party and our President ED Mnangagwa.”.

Cde Paradza said that the good works being done by President Mnangagwa are there for everyone to see hence the need to mobilise more than 5 million votes for him and the party.

He urged the ZANU PF Mashonaland East provincial youth executive to ensure youths are registered to vote.
