Zanu-PF adopts resolutions Cde Chadzamira

From George Maponga in Masvingo
Zanu-PF Masvingo province yesterday adopted its resolutions for the forthcoming 17th Annual National People’s Conference with the endorsement of President Mnangagwa as the ruling party’s Presidential candidate in the 2023 elections headlining the list.

The ruling party will hold its conference at Mzingwane High School from December 11 to 15 with 5 303 delegates billed to attend.

Ruling party Masvingo provincial chair Cde Ezra Chadzamira read the resolutions before they were adopted by hundreds of party leaders at Masvingo Polytechnic College.

Party National Chair Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri and National Commissar Cde Engelbert Rugeje were among the leaders in attendance.

Cde Chadzamira, who is also Masvingo Provincial Affairs Minister, said the party was fully behind President Mnangagwa to remain at the helm beyond 2023 when the next elections are due.

“First, we want to start by congratulating our President His Excellency Cde ED Mnangagwa for winning and leading the party to an emphatic victory in the July 30 harmonised elections. We also want to reiterate that we have resolved as Masvingo that President Mnangagwa be the party’s candidate in the 2023 Presidential election,” said the statement read by Cde Chadzimira.

He said Masvingo also fully supported the party’s decision to deploy full-time secretaries in the Politburo and the move to entrench the supremacy of the party over the Zanu-PF Government.

Masvingo province also backed plans to forge ahead with re-orientation and training of party leaders at the Chitepo School of Ideology and the move by President Mnangagwa into appoint a Commission of Inquiry into the August 1 shootings that saw six people killed in post-election demonstrations in Harare.

The party also adopted a resolution to back the ongoing clampdown against corruption.
