walking at an open space with her boyfriend in the area last Sunday evening.

National police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.
He said the pair was walking in an open space at around 5.45pm when they met four robbers who were armed with a matchete.

“The robbers then ordered them to surrender all their belongings before two of them dragged the victim into a bush where they took turns to rape her,” he said.

He said the other two were left guarding the boyfriend and after committing the offence, they disappeared. A report was made to the police and no arrests have been made.

Chief Supt Nyathi urged the public to avoid using secluded places and bushy areas at night as they were likely to be waylaid by criminals.
