A 28-year-old Harare woman has gone into hiding after she allegedly stabbed to death her husband following a domestic dispute at their house in Epworth.

Police have since launched a manhunt for Yolanda Chimbwanda in connection with the murder case.

Chimbwanda allegedly stabbed Wiseman Kwashira on the upper left part of the ribs with a knife on Monday before fleeing. Kwashira died on Tuesday while admitted to Sally Mugabe Central Hospital.

National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.

“The ZRP is appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of Yolanda Chimbwanda aged 28 in connection with a murder case which occurred on November 29, 2021 in Epworth, Harare. The suspect had a domestic dispute with her husband, Wiseman Kwashira.

Police in Epworth are also investigating a case of murder which occurred in Overspill on Monday at around 1300 hours, where a man aged 39 was attacked by 10 unidentified suspects led by one only known as Praise.

“The suspects threw stones to merry makers at a party thereby injuring several people and later stabbed the victim with a knife after the party. The victim sustained two deep stab wounds on the upper buttocks close to the spine and was pronounced dead upon arrival at a local clinic,” Asst Comm Nyathi said.
