You could go to France this year! Picture yourself right in the middle of France and staring at the humongous Eiffel tower.
You would probably capture every moment and post on your Instangram, Facebook and Twitter for the world to drool.
That dream may just turn into reality thanks to the odds that have just been turned in your favour.

You might just be the next lucky person on a plane heading to France this year to spend two weeks to a month in one of the world’s fashion capitals.

Exciting competitions, the annual Sing Your Way to Paris and the Lions Club’s student Exchange programme will give winners once in a lifetime opportunities to travel to France.

However, the two competitions have different conditions with Sing your way to Paris being open to youths aged 14 to 26.

Competitors must select an original French song from the provided repertoire. No need to speak French, just sing it well.

The registration is free of charge at Alliance Francaise in Harare.

Only one winner will be chosen and he or she will spend a whooping two weeks in Paris, courtesy of Bon Marche.

“All expenses are paid for this trip.

The competition aims at encouraging a wide participation among the Zimbabwean students community so as to select the best amateur singer in French of the year on the occasion of the Francophonie celebration week.

The international student exchange programme on the other hand is open to youths aged between 18 and 25 years.

Two winners who must speak French or hold a DELF B1 level in French are not spending two but four weeks in France on an international exchange programme paid in full by the Embassy of France, Lions Clubs of France and Alliance Française.

In the past, the likes of Briony Pasipanodya of St John’s College (2011) and University of Zimbabwe student Peniel Tambama (2012) have gone to France through this opportunity.

The deadline for registration for both competitions is February 28. So what are you waiting for?
