HOSTS Prince Edward continued with their unbeaten run in the schools rugby league when they beat Churchill 28-17 at the weekend. Tigers’ coach Shaun De Souza said his boy’s had taken their performance a gear up. Davis Murwendo was the first to score in the fifth minute and his teammate Tinotenda Savanhu beautifully converted.

Brain Matoramusha, Kumbirai Ndaba, Nqobile Ncube also contributed to their team’s victory with tries.

But Savanhu was the major kicker and he scored two penalties to give his side a 28-17 win. “Three out of three against one of our biggest rivals feels good the boys have worked very hard and the results are testimony of this fact.

“The Tigers are the top Harare School this season. I am very proud of the boys and I believe we are going to be the strongest side in the school league,” said De Souza. Peterhouse also maintained their good run when they thumped St George’s College 43-10. In another encounter, St John’s College pulled away from a stubborn Kyle College outfit in the second half to win 43-21 at their backyard.

The other weekend match saw Hellenic playing at their ground made a good use of their home advantage when they defeated the visiting side 22-7.

In the Matabeleland fixtures, Falcon College got a huge victory against Christian Brothers College who they destroyed 72-8.

Hillcrest also had a good outing when they beat Lomagundi 27-24.
