A local movie “The Purse” penned by award winning producer Willard Magombedze who is known as “Slimaz” will be distributed in Malawi and South Africa, beginning next week. Magombedze said they were working on the few issues before the movie gets to the two countries. “The CDs were supposed to get there by Friday this week but we still have to finalise on other issues. We hope by next week it will be available on the markets in these two countries,” he said.Locally it will be available on the market starting this Friday.

“We had some challenges on printing the CDs that is why we took some time. We managed to finish the production and will be available this Friday from selected selling points across the country,” he said.

He encouraged people to denounce piracy and buy the original CDs.

“It is the role of the people to denounce piracy by buying the original CDs. In that way we will be able to meet the production cost as well as having several other movies coming,” he said.

For one hour and 18 minutes people are bound to get real entertainment as well as lessons from the movie that featured musician Jah Prayzah, Rachael Maketa, Tendai Mukariri, Samantha Kureya, Alpha Ngoni and Amina Chivasa among others.

In the movie, Maria (played by Maketa) enters the spiritual realm during a passionate prayer session.

She meets an angel who tells her about a spiritual war that is about to be unleashed on her family.

The angel tells Maria to escape to a place where she will get the power to leave the spiritual realm and revert back to being a normal person.

Along the way to the physical world, Maria endures various evil duels until she meets the spiritual warrior (Jah Prayzah) who helps her return to the normal world.

Magombedze who has produced several videos in the country believes they have done their best in producing quality products that meet international standards.

The movie was shot in Vumba, Domboshawa and Harare.

Magombedze is planning to have several movies.

“This is not our last production and we have several other movies lined up. We are happy that this first one has gone according to our plan,” he said.
