Tenax unveil kit, players

MUTARE-BASED Premiership football newboys Tenax have unveiled their squad of 30 players that are going to do duty in the top-flight this season.

Tenax unveiled their kits on Friday evening during a colourful ceremony held at a local hotel in Mutare.

The team’s immediate task is the Chibuku Super Cup which gets underway this Saturday.

Tenax are in Group Three, which is based in Mutare, together with rivals Manica Diamonds and two Harare sides Cranborne Bullets and Black Rhinos.

The club have retained a number of players who turned out for the Zimbabwe Correctional Prison Services team in the First Division in 2019.

Among experienced players who have featured in the Premier League before are former Kiglon midfielder Virimayi Mukudo, ex-Aces and Chicken Inn linkman Panashe Mutasa and ex-Flame Lilly striker Farai Mugumwa.

Speaking at the function, the club’s chairman, Stefani Masina, said they are not making up numbers in the Premier League this season.

“We have 30 great players and a competent technical bench with the capability of producing the desired results.

“The team is ready to be counted among the best in the land and is not in the league to make up numbers or to be a relegation material but is here to stay,” he said.
