Tariro NeGitare and Gary Tight will tomorrow share the stage at Mabelreign Girls’ High in a show that is aimed at celebrating International Women’s Day. A number of schools including Mazoe High, Churchill Boys High, Prince Edward and Dominican Convent, among others, are also expected to present different performances that celebrate women.

International Women’s Day is celebrated worldwide on March 8.

Tariro Ne- Gitare said they will be joining the world in celebrating the importance of women.

“I think many will agree with me that women play a pivotal role in this life and are worth the celebration,” she said.

She promised a polished act saying she will be dishing out some of her hits that have proved to be popular during her live shows and have messages about women.

“I will be belting some of my hits, especially those songs with an empowerment message from my album ‘Chipo Changu’,’ she said.

On the other hand, Gary Tight who is happy to be sharing the stage with one of his favourite musicians, echoed the same sentiments saying the roles women play in people’s lives must not go unnoticed.

“I am very excited to be part of this important concert that celebrates the lives of people who matter most in our lives – women.

“It is really a great honour for me to be sharing the stage with Tari, who is more of a sister to me and also my source of inspiration,” he said.

He said he will also take the opportunity to promote his single “Ndazonyora” that features contemporary musician Jah Prayzah.

Meanwhile, Gary is currently in the studio working on his debut album to be released in August.
