The Airport Lounge at Queensway Shopping Centre in Hatfield is likely to be a hive of activity during the Samba Night that takes place at the venue tonight. Samba dancers from Brazil were expected in the country last evening for the dance night that is part of the ongoing Harare International Carnival.
Local dancers that include Beverly Sibanda and Zoey Sifelani are expected to feature at the event that would be historic for the night spot.

Zimbabwe Tourism Authority head of corporate affairs Sugar Chagonda said they are looking forward to a great dance night, which is one of the highlights of the carnival.
Chagonda urged party-goers to come in their numbers.

“The Brazilian samba dancers will join local artistes that are billed to perform at the event. We are looking forward to a great event and we hope people would enjoy the night,” said Chagonda.

Last year the samba dancers were expected to grace the inaugural Harare International Carnival but did not come.

Biggie Chinoperekwei of Airport Lounge said they were prepared for a great Samba Night.

“It would be an opportunity for people to feel a different environment when we host the Brazilians.

“Samba dancers are popular in most parts of the world and it is good that we will have them here.

“We thank Harare International Carnival organisers for choosing our place for the event,” said Chinoperekwei.

“We have our own good dancers here and they will complement the Brazilians on the night. It is likely to be a historic event, and we are looking forward to exciting time at the event.”
