Zimbabwean international striker Matthew Rusike, who has been called into the national squad to face Guinea on Sunday at Rufaro, was on fire over the weekend when he scored a double for his Swedish side. Rusike’s team Halmstad was playing Tino Kadewere’s side Djurgarden and the former Kaizer Chiefs’ man struck a brace but his goals were not good enough to help his team which went down 2-4.

According to reports from Sweden, the forward scored first in the 32nd minute to level matters before powering his team ahead after 10 minutes. But Djurgarden, who also had Zimbabwean international striker Nyasha Mushekwi on their books before his loan period expired, came from behind to win the match.

Former Harare City striker, Kadewere was introduced in the last eight minutes. But it is the performance by former Monomotapa forward Rusike that will be good news to Warriors coach Callisto Pasuwa ahead of the game against Guinea.
