Award-winning television drama “Estate Blues”, which last aired on national television eight years ago, returns next month.

The series which stars Melody Muzenda, Sharon Makovere and Fortune Maramba was absent from the silver screen because of financial constraints and other logistical challenges.

Speaking at a Press briefing, director and producer of the drama series, Admire Maramba said the production will bounce back next month to bring back old memories and give a new flair to the storyline.

“We gathered with the old ‘Estate Blues’ folks and agreed to bring back the people’s favourite drama and today I can safely say the production is back to reclaim its top position,” he said.

Maramba took the opportunity to introduce two new members of the cast, Pathisani Sibanda and Miss V Candy (both radio personalities) who will be on the screen to bring a fresh look to “Estate Blues”.

“We have managed to bring back 10 actors from the original cast. It is unfortunate that three of them have passed on. I am proud to announce that amongst the new cast we have top radio personalities and we hope that they will add value to the series,” he added.

The series will continue with the same storyline of fights which emanate in the administration of estates especially when a family member dies.

“We will be shooting the series on HD and we have improved tremendously on the aspects of location and art direction.

We have also partnered two companies that will be producing the series, Rocks Media and Reel Entertainment, to ensure a smooth flow.

Maramba said he is encouraging people to support the television and film industry as it takes a lot of money and effort to bring entertainment with value.

He appealed to sponsors to work with the arts and entertainment industry to come up with good products that will make a mark on international market.
