United Family International Church leader Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa has challenged parents to give their children proper guidance as they grow up and always pray for them.Prophet Makandiwa made the call at a three-day crusade he held in Muzarabani, Mashonaland Central, that was attended by thousands of villagers at Muzarabani Centre.

He was commending his own parents for teaching him about God while he was still young and for raising him in the church and in the word of God.

“I will continue to thank God for giving me parents,” said Prophet Makandiwa.

“I say to parents, let us love our children.  If you are a good parent, you leave God as an inheritance for your children. Parents must pray for their children so that they grow up in an upright way. Do not give up on your children and God will answer your prayers.”

Prophet Makandiwa said his background was clear in Muzarabani where he grew up, yet there were some who never set foot in the area who were spreading false information that his background was shaky.

“People in Harare say that I just came from nowhere,” he said. “They wanted to see me growing up, but how could I have grown up in two different places?

“If you want to know about my background, ask people from here (Muzarabani) and you will get the information.”

Prophet Makandiwa said his desire was that churches spread to remote areas like Muzarabani to help the people both spiritually and physically.

He said it was not proper that people in the area walked long distances to church because of lack of nearby centres of worship.

“We are building a church in this area and the site is already there,” said Prophet Makandiwa.

“Let that happen everywhere, people should not walk long distances to pray and worship. Everywhere where there are people, let there be a church, that is our desire.”

Thousands of people gave their lives to Christ on Saturday night after Prophet Makandiwa preached from John 8 vs 36, while hundreds others were healed of different ailments.

Prophet Makandiwa urged those who repented not to be fooled by their friends and relatives who were likely to discourage them from following the path they had chosen.
