Zanu-PF Mashonaland Central Province is concentrating on economic development issues to improve the lives of the people, instead of focusing on political issues, provincial chairperson Cde Kazembe Kazembe has said.

Speaking after presiding over the provincial coordinating committee meeting in Bindura on Saturday, Cde Kazembe said there was light at the end of the tunnel in terms of economic recovery following the Government’s intervention which banned the use of the multi-currency system.

He said the reintroduction of the Zimbabwe dollar was a welcome and timely intervention.

“The President has been clear that the process of fixing the economy will be painful, but the results will be pleasing. We are happy that things are beginning to look up,” said Cde Kazembe.

“The meeting went well, we talked about issues affecting our people. As alluded by the President we need to focus more on economics and less on politics, I think you saw it that 95 percent of the issues discussed were development issues.

“Our meetings have taken a different approach altogether we do not want to give room to divisions.

“We spend most of our time doing what people elected us to do and as a province we have agreed to move in one direction and give unity a chance.”
