President Mugabe heads to Mashonaland Central Province today as he continues with his provincial caucuses, meeting Zanu-PF National Assembly members, Senators and party leadership.

The Zanu-PF First Secretary is also expected to address a rally at Chipadze Stadium in Bindura.

This comes as the Zanu-PF Politburo has assigned senior party members to address various inter-district meetings to be held in all provinces over the weekend.

National commissar Cde Saviour Kasukuwere said the provincial caucuses would spread to all provinces.

“The President on Friday (today) will meet the leadership from Mashonaland Central including holding a rally as well,” he said.

“The President will find time to be with people in the province. He already had a prior commitment in terms of the provincial party parliamentary caucuses.

“The meetings will involve National Assembly members and Senators and he will have that engagement first before meeting the generality of party members to apprise them on key issues within the country.”

President Mugabe was in Masvingo last week where he ordered warring parties in the province to set aside their differences and work as a united team to achieve socio-economic development.

In his interface meeting with the legislators and traditional leaders, President Mugabe set the stage for a new era in Zanu-PF in the province as he demanded an end to factionalism and infighting.

He said senior ruling party leaders were supposed to work in unison with Members of Parliament.

Cde Kasukuwere said provincial inter-district meetings would be held this weekend with the focus being on service delivery and preparations for the forthcoming agricultural season.

“The party structures across the country will have provincial inter-district meetings where members of the Politburo have been assigned various provinces,” he said.

“Politburo members will go and meet the political leadership in those provinces and explain, discuss and inform them on key issues with regards to some of these uncalled for machinations.

The leadership will also be talking to the party membership about the agricultural season which will be coming soon.

Deliberations will also centre on service delivery issues, party unity and pertinent issues.

“This weekend all roads will lead to the various provincial capitals for the meetings.”

Mashonaland Central provincial chairperson Cde Dickson Mafios said the province was ready to host President Mugabe.

“We are ready to receive our President and preparations are at an advanced stage,” he said.

“Mobilisation of people is going on very well and all the corners of the province have been covered”.
