President Mugabe has appointed Professor Pardon Kuipa as the Vice Chancellor for Lupane State University.

The Chancellor of all State Universities also appointed Dr Nomathemba Ndiweni as the Pro-Vice Chancellor for the same institution.

The appointments are with effect from May 18.

Prof Kuipa takes over from the late Dr Mclean Mackson Bhala who died in August last year.

At the time of his appointment, Prof Kuipa was the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Chinhoyi University of Technology.

Prof Kuipa holds an Msc Degree in Chemical Engineering (with distinction) from Ivanovo Institute of Chemical Engineering (Russia) and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Bradford University (UK).

He is also a Chartered Engineer, registered with the Engineering Council (UK) and with the Engineering Council of Zimbabwe.

Prof Kuipa has over nine publications and is currently supervising four PhD students at Chinhoyi University of Technology.

Before her appointment, Dr Ndiweni was with the National University of Science and Technology as Dean and Senior Lecturer at the Medical School, Division of Basic Medical Sciences.

She sits on various boards including Mpilo Central Hospital Research Council of Zimbabwe and the Health Professions Authority of Zimbabwe.

Dr Ndiweni is a holder of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry (UZ), Graduate Certificate in Education (UZ), Masters in Philosophy Degree in Biochemistry (Cambridge) and PhD in Biochemical Immunology from the University of Bristol.

She also has several certificates in Supervisory Management and Higher Education Management.
