The Progressive People’s Party of Zimbabwe (PPPZ) has embarked on a meet the people programme across the country as it seeks to strengthen its structures, an official has said.

The party’s president Reverend Timothy Chiguvare said his team has been working hard especially in rural areas since the end of the 2018 harmonised elections.

The PPPZ is among the over 20 political parties which fielded candidates in last year’s election.

“The PPPZ has been to all rural areas in Zimbabwe to meet the people to understand their nature of challenges, and while there we have discovered that the most suffering are women and children,” said Rev Chiguvare.

“The rural people throughout Zimbabwe are very happy with our leadership and they believe in our vision and what we are currently doing for them and planning to do for them.

“We are going to do something that has never been done before in the rural areas of Zimbabwe and people are now certain that with PPPZ in power, their lives will never be the same again.

“However, I cannot share with you our strategies because they are part of our manifesto and we are afraid that other political parties that have run out of ideas will steal ours.”

He continued; “What I can only tell you is that stadiums will be full whenever we are to have our rallies because our vision for Zimbabwe is far bigger than politics and we strongly believe that the nation is the people, ilizwe ngabathu, nyika vanhu”.

The South African-based politician also assured Zimbabweans in rural areas that their lives will never be the same again.

He said poverty will be history and everything about their lives is going to change.

Rev Chiguvare said he will be going around interacting with people at all levels in the rural areas.

“As a servant of God I expect nothing in return because I was called to serve,” he added.
