MONACO. – Paul Pogba has said that Manchester United can win the English Premier League soccer title this season, insisting that Jose Mourinho’s team have no reason to be “scared” of any of their rivals.

United currently sit top of the English Premier League table having recorded successive 4-0 victories in their opening two league games against West Ham and Swansea.

For the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement as manager in 2013, the 20-time English champions appear capable of sustaining a prolonged title challenge this season.

But although Pogba admits that any number of teams can win the title, the £89 million midfielder believes that United are good enough to have the mentality of targeting the top spot this season. “I’m pleased and happy that we have started really well, but it is not finished yet,” Pogba told ESPN in an exclusive interview in Monte Carlo. “It is just the start of the season.

“The biggest challengers? We are our own rivals and we think about ourselves first. But we don’t have to be scared of anyone in the league because we know we are a strong team as well. We know we can do great this season. – ESPN.
