ZIMBABWE Under-23 coach Callisto Pasuwa is not happy with his team’s preparations for the first leg of the CAF Under-23 Championships second round qualifier against Swaziland scheduled for Rufaro on Sunday.

The former Dynamos coach has been training with a depleted squad since they began camp on Tuesday and could not hide his disappointment after Premiership log leaders Chicken Inn yesterday recalled their two players Lawrence Mhlanga and Raphael Kutinyu.

Champions Dynamos also withdrew their defender Blessing Moyo and goalkeeper Tatenda Mukuruva earlier this week to leave the Young Warriors technical working with one goalkeeper, Takabva Mawaya, of Hwange.

Pasuwa was hoping to retain the bulk of the squad that excelled last month when they beat West African giants Cameroon and qualified for this year’s Africa Games finals but the situation has forced him to make some changes.

Pasuwa had to call youthful CAPS United midfielder Tinovimba Muskwe, former Gunners midfielder Munyaradzi Chiwara and a goalkeeper from Aces Youth Academy after he was left with a severely depleted squad of 14 players.

“We are not serious with what we want at the end of the day. If you go out there it mustn’t be a blame game. You see the way we are preparing? We are with players all the while and, at the last minute, they are being withdrawn by their clubs.

“Then, at the end of the day, you tend to wonder what are we doing?

“We had a team that played in Cameroon and of all the defenders who were there I am only left with one who featured in that game,” he said.
