National football team coach Calisto Pasuwa’s “blanket incident” has found its way into local comedy, with comedian Uncle Ritchie taking the euphoria to the stage.

Real name Richard Matimba, Uncle Ritchie left the audience in stitches when he incorporated his version of events in his act at Alliance Francaise at a show held over the weekend.

Pasuwa was captured boarding a Munorurama bus to Malawi with a blanket ahead of the team’s Africa Cup of Nations match and the picture has been trending on social media over the past days.

“Unonzwa vanhu vachishora vachiti macoach eku Chelsea vanoshamisira vachipfeka ma tracksuit. Asi ini ndoita zvinoita kuti zvinhu zviite zvekusunga 2 in 1. Ndokwanisa kutozosvika ku World Cup ndakutoita zve ma 8 in 1,” Uncle Ritchie joked during the show.

While the comedian also took a dig at the famous “tezvara in shorts”, the Pasuwa joke was an instant hit with the audience.

The comedian, who rose to fame with his “Unotoshaya kuti zviri kufamba sei” joke said he was impressed by its reception.

“It was my first time to speak on the blanket incident, but I maintain that my jokes are not meant to offend anyone but to simply share the lighter side of things. Pasuwa explained himself and he appreciates that some find the incident funny and have been joking about it on social media,” he said.

The comedian performed in a show that featured Dereck Mpofu – the Green Ambassador – together with Marble Madondo.

Their show was fairly attended with those that braved the cold Saturday night being given a one of a kind treat.

Mpofu thrilled with his hit songs like “Chisikana Changu Zimbabwe” along with other songs from yester- year greats.

“We had a great time and we are happy with the show. We are already getting requests for more of these music/comedy shows,” said Mpofu

Madondo on the other hand dazzled with her unmistakable voice, performing for what seemed like the sweetest 30 minutes.
