EmpowerBank board chairman Mr Raymond Njanike, who died of cancer on Wednesday, is set to be buried today in Ruwa.

Mr Njanike had been diagnosed with cancer a year ago.

His body lay in state at his Goromonzi farm yesterday.

His brother, Mr Joseph Njanike, told The Herald yesterday that burial was on today from 9am at Plot 1, Pinelands, in Ruwa.

Relatives, EmpowerBank and Government officials are expected to make speeches at the burial.

Mr Njanike was born on October 9, 1968 and is survived by his wife, Abegirl Njanike and three children: two daughters and a son.

He had extensive banking experience spanning over 20 years, focusing on treasury, international banking and lending and his last position in the banking sector was as managing director of a merchant bank.

Apart from being EmpowerBank board chairman, Mr Njanike was an entrepreneur running various business interests.
