Mr Mutasa

Zimbabwe Newspapers Group Chief Executive Mr Justin Mutasa yesterday offered his condolences to the Nyoka family following the death of the company’s senior driver, Mr Samson Nyoka.Mr Nyoka died on Tuesday at his home in Budiriro 1, Harare, after a short illness.

He was 55.

Mr Mutasa described Mr Nyoka as a man of impeccable credentials, in addition to being dedicated and hard-working.

“I want to express my profound and deepest condolences to the Nyoka family for the untimely death of one of our hard working, loyal and humble drivers,” he said.

“He was assigned the longest routes to Masvingo, Mutare and Gweru because he appreciated the fact that in the newspaper industry, the first in the market gets the business.”

Mr Mutasa said Mr Nyoka’s time consciousness ensured that readers got their newspapers early.

“Our readers would get the newspaper while they are going to work. He worked for Zimpapers for 32 years after joining in 1982. And for the past 12 years I have been here, that I have known him, I have never seen him coming before the disciplinary hearing and that speaks volumes about his quality of service to Zimpapers. Therefore, I say on behalf of management and everybody, go well and may your dear soul rest in peace.”

Mr Mutasa donated US$300 towards burial costs. A church service was held at Nyaradzo Funeral Parlour yesterday afternoon before the body was taken to Shurugwi ahead of burial today.
