Mutare North National Assembly member Batsiranayi Pemhenayi has been ordered to pay US$18 000 to a man he defrauded in a botched stand deal in Mutare.  High Court judge Justice Hlekani Mwayera ordered the legislator to refund Zuzei Mandiyabe the money after he clandestinely sold the stand that belonged to Homelink.

Justice Mwayera ordered Pemhenayi to pay US$12 000 for the 2 204 square meters stand with an additional US$6 000 being legal fees by the plaintiff.  According to Mandiyabe’s lawyer, Mr Kudzaishe Gama, said the legislator has not complied with the High Court order issued in May.
An attempt by the Deputy Sheriff to attach property failed forcing him to approach the Salary Service Bureau seeking to satisfy the order of the court by deducting money from the legislator.
